Tochi Raina debuted as a playback singer in 2008 with Bulleshah, in the movie A Wednesday, followed by numerous hit songs like Iktara (2010), Gal Mitthi Mitthi (2010), Saibo(2011), Aali Re (2011), Mallo Malli (2011), Gud Naal Ishaq Mitha (2013) and Kabira (2013).

Tochi released his album “Tochinamah” which contained three of his melodious songs. The young voice, learned music from Gurus, like Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Ustad Bhure Khan, Ustad Altaf Hussain Sarang and a few other known personalities in the world of Indian Classical Music.

Tochi has a special connection and love for the Sufi music. Coming from a musically oriented family, music runs in his blood. Tochi is married to Shweta Raina and has a daughter who he named, Saibo.

Tochi Raina belongs to Patiala (Punjab). He was born Sahib and Surjit Kumar Raina, a Kashmiri Pandit from Lahore, with roots Anantnag, in Darbhanga, Bihar, went to school in Nepal where his father, a government employee, was posted. His brother Arvinder is a composer in Malaysia and his sister Harmeet is a Ph.D. in classical music.

He hails from a family with music background. His father played the harmonium, his grandmother was a Sitar player, his uncle, Ratan Singh, a renowned Violin player and his grandfather, Akaali Kaur Singh, a saint. He later moved to Delhi where he started learning music under Pandit Vinod Kumar — a disciple of Indian classical singer Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan. He also learnt music from Ustad Bhure Khan, Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Ustad Altaf Hussain Sarang, Pt. Mani Prasad and Pt. Sitaram. According to him his Gurus not only taught him music, but also to visualize his breath. Slowly, he started visualizing words and he turned to spirituality and Sufi music.

He also sang the Song "Rabba" in Coke Studio @MTV Season 3 which is composed by Amit Trivedi.
